Product description

Built for touring the entire mountain.

Built for touring the entire mountain, the all-round Atomic Backland 95 is a ski that strikes the perfect balance of light weight uphill efficiency, and wide stability underfoot to confidently rip lines that catch your eye from the skin track. A reinterpretation of the original Backland, the new ski construction significantly reduces CO2 emissions by 30% with the use of locally sourced poplar wood, less fiberglass and resin, and waste-reducing sidewalls. The result is a lower-impact design that creates a lighter, stronger ski with more soulful performance. The All-Terrain Profile uses a new natural-wood-to-fiberglass ratio to change the thickness curve of the ski and add torsional stiffness – for enhanced climbing and optimized downhill performance on harder snow surfaces. HRZN 3D – the next generation succeeding original HRZN tech – features a uniquely beveled three-dimensional tip that further improves float in powder and handling in variable snow conditions.

For the ultimate touring set up, choose an Atomic PreFit skin to match.

Light Woodcore
Light Woodcore:

Made from Poplar wood, this core optimizes the ski’s weight without sacrificing any shock absorption or stability.

HRZN 3D
HRZN 3D:

A broad, uniquely beveled, perforated 3D tip that increases surface area for better float and reduced swing weight. HRZN Tech Tip & Tail construction features a fully beveled tip and tail that delivers 10% more surface area, without adding any width or weight to the ski, for awesome flotation in deep snow, less tip deflection and better tracking through chop. This technology also creates a more relaxed tip and tail for more playful, progressive performance – making it the ultimate design for freeride and freestyle skiers.

Fiberglass
Fiberglass:

Thanks to the continuous fiberglass layers, the ski is harmonious and stable. Stable to ride, while at the same time it scores with low weight and high dynamics.

Dura Cap Sidewall
Dura Cap Sidewall:

Sidewall from base to top sheet, for controlled power transmission and great edge grip. The rounded shape of the Dura Cap is a fantastic durability feature as it picks up fewer dents and dings

Side edge angle
Side edge angle:

Precisely tuned edges are an important part of ski performance. A dull edge cannot penetrate the snow surface and will skid through a turn. An edge that is too sharp will grab and catch the snow surface creating unstable performance. The Atomic skis are prepared with a side edge angle of 87.0° for more intuitive handling, easier skiing and better grip on hard snow and ice.

Base edge angles
Base edge angles:

All skis from the Atomic factory are delivered with steel edges that have been carefully machined with a precise base edge bevel for specific performance characteristics. Base edge angles between 0.8° and 1.6° lightly lift the ski edges off the snow for easy turning while maintaining edge grip and tracking throughout the turn.

Rocker-Technology: All Mountain Rocker 20/70/10
Rocker-Technology: All Mountain Rocker 20/70/10:

For all snow conditions and any terrain, both on and off-piste. An early rise either just in the tip, or in both tip and tail, makes this rocker super versatile.
