Faction Prodigy 1 Capsule 24/25 Freeski
Product description
The Prodigy 1 Capsule mirrors the shape of the best-selling Prodigy 2: the award-winning elliptical sidecut from Fraction unlocks effortless turn initiation at any speed, and the full strength sidewalls deliver rip-roaring edge hold.
Compared to the Prodigy 2 this ski is 10mm narrower underfoot, for precise handling in the park and on-piste. The Prodigy 1’s core is also unique to the family: the poplar wood is bolstered by ash wood, yielding serious strength to withstand heavy hits. For the 24|25 season, Faction has added a carbon/rubber stomp pad to absorb vibration from those hits, too. Rounded out with XL 2.5mm edges, the Prodigy 1 is built to last.
Thoughtfully crafted from the durable topsheets all the way down to the perfectly finished bases, the Prodigy Series represents all that Faction stands for: Progression. Responsive wood cores, directional twin-tip shapes and versatile camber lines deliver confidence-inspiring performance. Quick to respond to commands and ultra easy to handle, the Prodigy skis are designed to elevate the skier’s game. Backed by a class-leading two-year warranty.
Sustainability
Built with recycled materials, never sacrificing durability. Faction is working with their production partners to eliminate material waste. They now mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality & durability. As a fun fact, by integrating recycled materials into their ski bases, they reduce the ecological impact of our bases by 75%.
In an effort to reduce the impact of their supply chain, Faction strives to source materials from European companies that are based near their factories.

Poplar is a light, durable softwood with good flex and pop, as well as excellent vibration damping. Ash is a heavier hardwood that adds extra rigidity and durability to poplar. This duo offers good grip on hard snow, a solid base for safe landings, and enough pop and flex to get creative.
Carbon and rubber Stomp Pad absorbs vibration at high speeds and upon landing big airs. A 600mm-long, 15mm-wide carbon/rubber reinforcement underfoot, above the edge, adds strength where it matters most to this performance oriented ski. In addition to protecting the wood core from heavy-duty impact on rails, the carbon and rubber inlay adds stability and vibration absorption under your boots, so that stomped landings feel better, both for you and your skis.
7 fractions of a millimetre might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges stack an extra 35% of height on top of Factions already super-durable standard 1.8mm edges. This extra steel gives the rider a pair of skis that are going to take more abuse and last longer.
A construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the woodcore, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage.
Elliptical Radius Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in seamless turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths and angles.
Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping.
The "Mustache Flex" offers stability underfoot for solid edge hold, with a smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to easily absorb all the different bumps and snow debris the mountain throws at you. This flex works best for most skiers. Enjoy stability in front of, and behind the binding area to provide solid edge hold. Then, we transition to smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to easily absorb all the different bumps and snow debris the mountain throws at you. This flex allows for progression and for an easier turn initiation and finish
Tip and tail rocker + traditional camber, for the perfect blend of high performance edge hold, easy turn initiation, and float in soft snow.
