Product description

Extremely durable, stretchable, athletic hooded jacket for alpine climbing.

The massive, bizarre towers of the Pala group protrude from the stony alpine plateau. Climbing here in the southernmost mountain range of the Dolomites takes strong nerves - and strong material. The MERINO SHIELD TEC line was designed especially for long, alpine routes like these!

The extremely scuff-resistant outer material of the PALA HOODED JACKET for women achieves more than 50,000 abrasion cycles in the Martindale test, which is used to measure scuff resistance. Reinforcements in particularly high-stress areas such as the hips, shoulders and underarms offer maximum protection against craggy rocks. The 4-WAY stretch material provides full freedom of movement, enhanced by an athletic cut and anatomically shaped elbow areas. Thanks to its no-membrane construction, the PALA HOODED JACKET for women is particularly breathable, while fine MERINO WOOL inside offer additional comfort.

The self-adjusting hood fits under a climbing helmet and the cuffs and waistband are elastic and comfortable. Thanks to its high-reach performance fit, the PALA HOODED JACKET for women adapts to every movement and is perfectly tailored to climbing. The breast pocket and two harness- and backpack-optimized front pockets provide space for small items that you might need to grab quickly on a long day of climbing.

For the sake of the environment, the entire MERINO SHIELD TEC line is also completely PFC-free and climate-neutral through carbon offsetting. With its fresh look, the PALA HOODED JACKET for women is just right for big climbing routes on high rock faces.

Sustainability

Mulesing free
Mulesing free:

Mulesing free describes a type of sheep farming in which the animals are spared the painful procedure of mulesing. Mulesing involves removing folds of skin around the animals' tails, sometimes without anesthesia, and this controversial procedure is used to prevent possible parasitic infestations. However, this technique is not used on animals from strictly controlled Mulesing free farms. Instead, they rely on close-meshed health monitoring to prevent parasite infestations and diseases. This increases the well-being and quality of life of the sheep, making Merino wool with the Mulesing free label the best choice for anyone who wants to support pain-free sheep husbandry and breeding.

Ortovox Wool Promise
Ortovox Wool Promise:

Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. The merino wool comes from selected farms that comply with the OWP wool standard: the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE. ORTOVOX obtains its virgin wool from certified and ethical sheep farms. These farms are regularly monitored within the framework of the OWP. The wool is naturally 100% ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin.  In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.
